Hello!
My name is Lee Jackson, and I am the composer of a little tune called GRABBAG, also known as the Duke Nukem theme.
This song has been out in the public since 1996. The first half of it was released as a MIDI file along with the aforementioned game. The entire song was released as a CD Audio track on a later add-on pack for the game. From there, it went all over the place, as an MP3 file, a YouTube upload, and then as cover versions by too many people to count (including at least one very well known heavy metal band).
The one thing that hasn’t been out in the public is a full MIDI file of Grabbag. That’s because one never existed - until now.
If you’ve been waiting for the release of the complete, never-before-available MIDI file of Grabbag, then wait no longer. Thanks to the prodding of a LOT of people, the files are finally available, and you’ve come to the right place to get them!
Yes, your eyes didn’t deceive you - we’re talking files, as in more than one. Two MIDI files, to be exact, plus a couple of others that are necessary and even helpful at times. All of them are wrapped up in one ZIP file, so as long as you’ve got that, you’ll be in good shape.
I’m also releasing the files at no charge, as long as you don’t use them for commercial purposes. That means there’s a license that you’ll have to agree to in order to download the files. Don’t worry, you won’t be required to give up your firstborn child. I’ve already raised one, and that was all I could handle.
Now, if you’re ready to go to the page where you can download the ZIP file, please click on either the nice, shiny “Download” button at the top of this page, or if you’re more the adventurous type, you can click on the little crinkly bag to the right of this paragraph.
At Lee Jackson Audio, the customer is always out there. Somewhere. Maybe one of these days, we might even be able to find them.
